Access and control
Your security and data access stay the same
ChatGPT cannot see information or perform actions beyond what your connected HR Omni account is allowed to access. The same company and role permissions apply whether you work directly in HR Omni or through ChatGPT.
HR Omni connects to ChatGPT through Model Context Protocol (MCP). When you sign in, the connection is authorised using OAuth, and HR Omni's role-based access controls (RBAC) continue to be checked for every request.

How to connect
ChatGPT's interface, plan requirements and workspace controls can change. Use OpenAI's current instructions to create a custom MCP connection, then enter the HR Omni connection details below.

Open ChatGPT's current custom MCP connection flow using OpenAI's guidance.

Enter the HR Omni MCP server URL and select OAuth authentication.

Continue to HR Omni and sign in with your username and password or a supported SSO option.

Review the requested scopes on the HR Omni consent page and approve only the access you intend to use.

Connection control
Review or revoke access
Active authorisations appear under Sessions in your HR Omni account settings. Revoking a session signs the user out of MCP. The connection may remain configured in ChatGPT, but the user must authenticate again before it can access HR Omni.
Data handling
Review before sharing HR information with ChatGPT
HR Omni returns only information allowed by the approved OAuth scopes and the user's existing HR Omni access. Once information is sent to ChatGPT, its handling is governed by the user's OpenAI plan, settings and applicable OpenAI terms. Users should decide whether the connection is appropriate for their organisation and the information involved.
